That's not too bad, the going rate for a moody MOT round here is £750, with wiper blades thrown in*.
You could get your cat MOT'd, or your gran, some places.

(*I mean thrown in, they won't fit them for that money).

when my oldest kids were still in need of driving around i needed a 7 seater but i did,nt want a people carrier. i bought a renault savannah estate with 3 rows of seats for 990 quid. i kept it for about 6 years and it never cost me more than a hundred to get it through the mot, everytime it did it felt better than finding money in the street! the kids loved going in it and called it chitty. it had roof bars and you could stick a load of gear on the top for camping and such like, put all the seats down and you could sleep (etc) in the back. it was a good old mile muncher , 2 litre fuel injection but was a bit thirsty. when the engine management died i got about 150 quid back scrap but i was sad to see that old car go as it reminds me of fun times with the kids when they were little

me and my brother mot'd his mother in laws knackered old fiests over in spain, over there its called an itv, they have a conveyer belt system where several testers mot several cars at the same time, its a very clever system which allows them to test a hell of a lot of cars/vans/lorries in a day.
at the end of the system they tell you weither you have passed by issuing a sticker on the windscreen.
me and my brother were waiting by the exit to see if this shite box of a car to failed, when one of the testers turned to another and said este fiesta es perfecto........
THIS FIESTA IS PERFECT.........the first thing me and my brother did was look around for another fiesta because surely they weren't talking about our car....
we were shocked to say the least, this car would never have passed an mot in the uk, unless as suggested by tony, oh and by the way i'm told £150 gets you a ticket down south these days
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Cost of a moody one?
I was just guessing.....If a vehicle has a problem I'd rather know about it, and with four-wheeled stuff I'm not crawling underneath to find out.

We have a 1989 Volvo estate, paid £450 for it in 2004, so far it has cost us nothing, apart from fuel :eek2 26mpg is less than funny but if driven on motorways at about 60-70 it will do 40.

Bloomin heck, just realised, thats as good as the storm! Mind you its not as much fun even if it can take the Mrs and three Greyhounds...

When it goes for an mot the guy I go to says "ere look at this" I go and look can't see anything. I ask what I am looking for and he says rust. "I can't see any" I say in a defensive tone, he says "Exactly"
