Yo Guy's.
My names Rob Vardy based in Halifax, West Yorkshire
Got a nice red VTR 1000 F (2000) with 14000 miles on the clock a few weeks back and happy to find there's a forum for them!
So how is everyone today?
Rob.

There's nothing like a little banter!
I know this isn't the correct spot but could anyone list the most common faults with the older VTR's (year 2000).
The Reg/Rec can be missed off as that has been replaced with a nice new Honda Blackbird item.
I'm also aware about the CCTs but unsure if I should be looking for warning signs, noises etc at 14000 miles? They don't sonud noisey at the moment, is that the tell tale sign?
Cheers Guys anyway!
Rob

CCT is a timebomb, any age any milage!
there will be little or no warning and it will bend the valves, so do the stopper mod this weekend and ride free...........look in workshop knowledge base
other faults are a soft front spring, and a stiff back spring..............get weight related front springs and 7.5wt oil in forks and put a 3 to 5mm spacer under the rear shock to help it turn in. new shock or weight related spring will help at the back.
Brakes will need a good service and even at their best they are not as strong as I wanted, so I swapped calipers & Master.
oh and the tank range is limited!
