I started having problems getting my bike starting in last week and thought that it was my battery that was going.I charged my battery up but it seems to have run down after 3 days again.Last night my fuel light was also starting to come on when I would turn on my indicators and and high beam.
I also sometimes hear something like a scratching noise coming from somewhere under the back seat when I try starting the bike. I have had a look under the seat and could not see anything obviosly wrong,I have a finned rectifier as well.Dont know how old it is as I have only had the bike for 15 months.
Just want to get some opnions before I go out and buy a new R/R which I suspect is the problem.
Could this be faulty R/R?

Check it would be the easiest way of knowing. Beg/borrow/steal a multimeter, put it on 12V DC ~600 range and put one on the battery - and one on the battery +.
With the bike off it should be ~12.7-13 and with it on and revving ~2k it should be ~14.7

The fizzing noise gives it away.
RR needs to be replaced, but it can't hurt to measure it first.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
