Both my Firestorms STOLEN (** 1 recovered !!/ 2nd destroyed)

Post by Steve6088 »

Had both my bikes stolen in the night. Cut through 3 thick locks, and two disk locks. Some of you predicted this, I naively thought that underground parking would make them more secure.

Absolutely devastated, I've put a lot of time into my road bike. I was planning on breaking the track bike over the weekend and taking it into the flat. If only I had started to do that. Hence my post just last night about selling the parts.

Road bike's distinctive features:

Reg:R511 YCC Siliver
Proflex rear shock
Quill Carbon Cans
Corbin Seat
Givi Rack
MRA screen
Oxford heated grips
Carbon hugger
R&G bar ends and bobbins
Acumen gear indicator

Race bike:

Red/Orange Numbered 69
Ohlins shock
Moriwaki frame
cbr900 forks
Renegade high level cans
Steering damper
Race levers

I would really appreciate it if people could keep an eye out for either of the bikes or any of the trick bits appearing on ebay. Would also appreciate it if this could be reposted elsewhere. Many Thanks

Just moved so road bike was not insured at the new address yet. So wont get the £1000 for it and the race bike was uninsured, so I have lost quite a lot. It will be a fair while until I can afford another bike

just checked ebay, loot, pre-loved and gumtree no sign yet

can you get round to the breakers within a reasonable distance

if you approach them and say if the stuff turns up and they grass up the people we could put up a reward if every one chips in a quid or two as an incentive for him / them ??

just an idea

Thanks guys. Ill ring around the breakers. Police are checking CCTV today. The flats are covered with CCTV so hopefully this helps.

I don't have the VIN for the race bike as I was going to be breaking it this weekend. Annoyingly I did think about it.

sh1t I don't believe it for wombles sake. That's very sad news indeed :( I am gutted and feel real bad for you, I kinda feel like I jinxed it. Manchester is real bad for that sort of stuff hence my concerns.

As Seb said that frame will be hard to shift on without someone noticing also the other unique parts to that bike. I will obviously keep my eyes and ears open, scanning parts for sale etc.

If you want to offer a reward I will be willing to donate to the cause. I'm shocked you didn't have them insured though 8O If the car park is part of where you live maybe house insurance would cover it. Or if it's a private lock up, they might have an insurance policy that may cover it. Fingers crossed.

THAT REALLY IS sh1t !!
as they have said , it will be obvious to all on here if some of those parts come up for sale .
especially the frame ( 6 only ) .
my personal view : bury them head first for an hour when they get caught , then ask them if they want to repent ?

Very sorry to hear that :( I'll never know how some people feel they have the right to take someone elses property

Can you contact the previous owner of the race bike to get the chassis number, that way if it's spotted you can back up your claim to it. If you havn't got any contact details has anyone on here still got it on their watch list from the ebay auction ?.
