FULL BIKE RESPRAY COLOURS TO SUIT IN HEREFORD

Post by Anotherbikerbabe »

We found a professional panel beater who is based in Hereford and is doing Dave's 2nd VTR in 2 colours as request on the whole bike! We are dropping the whole fairing kit off tomorrow incl Bellypan & solo seat cover and collect it all Wed night/Thrs morning TBC so will post up new pics when done!  :clap the guy does it all himself n another guy Ross doing it similar prices, maybe they get a lot of their gear through work..we'll see whats what..

For anyone wanting a respray job of any size, drop me a pm and I'll gladly pass you his number along ;-) Will post up the pics when all done as this bike needs some work doing to it and body work seen better days..

First thing i thought was thats far too cheap IMO. Thats got to be an at cost mates rate. Cant be using much laquer for that price, im having my bike done at the mo and its getting 5 coats of laquer costing 150 quid. That doesnt leave much for prep, primer and paint? :confused

my yellow beast is the y124p and i cant get a straight answer out of anyone

Honda Paint Codes

http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BH ... tCodes.htm

Yellow is hard to match because the panels on your bike will fade in the sun/with age so when you spray any individual part new it will differ from the rest of the bike - add to the fact differences in undercoat/layers of translucent yellow final coat/ lacquer and thus a factory yellow is so hard to match. If you want a best matching overall finish look at having a full respray.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Cheers P, the guy has all the gear at work oven baked the lot, all the tools and does some bits of them at home first, so doing it in his own time at mates rates. We are looking forward to seeing it Wed pm or Thrs a.m at latest..will text you a pic when it's all back on the bike etc.. :D

I know first hand how hard it is for yellow as my old Storm was yellow and not the colour code for the year either as I found out when I wanted the bellypan resprayed! turns out my lovely yellow bike had the paint code R-157 under the seat!! lol..We managed to get as close as humanly possible matched by a colour at Halfords (would have to dig out the exact colour from old dairy) it wasn't easy but ended up looking really really close!

This time, Daves bike is going from Yellow to the Italian red with a second colour on a cpl of three panels (not white to match mine ..no, different colour) so it should look good ;-)
