i know have stoppers fitted to my pride and joy thanks to carl and his expertise so at last i can relax and ride it rather than listen for any unusual noises at lights. so i,d like to thank carl for all his help on this and giving up a day to help me your a star

did top up with oil as it was a bit low (oops) still have that slight ticking noise for the life off me i can not pin point it

put a bar to the engine and had a listen all round everything seems normal it sounds like it,s coming from around the bottom off the rear shock /exhaust area and it is a ticking rather than a tapping noise i,ll have to get a mate round to help locate it four ears are better than two.once again cheers carl. oh sorry you had to get wet on the way home not a good day weather wise.

Good to hear you're sorted in the CCT dept
Check the exhaust doesn't have a bad gasket seal in the rear header, and as is it connects from the header pipe to the link pipe.

No. 2 gasket and/or no.5 gasket - and that the clamps aren't corroded to buggery (replace with marine grade stainless steel Mikalor clamps)

No worries, glad it's all sorted. As you don't know when the valves where last checked. With mileage you bike has done it's probably best to put a valve adjustment check on your list of things to get done at some point as well.
Here's the link for some new generator caps.

cheers carl i would like to get a set off those they look nice. i will look into having the tappets adjusted just to be safe but as i said that noise we could hear is a ticking below the engine line and i can,t seem to pin point it. i have had that spare tentioner apart and have locked my self in the shed looking for the ultimate answer and will not come out until i am victorius but don,t hold you breaths. but there does seem to be anough room for a spring twice as thick as the original but that has probably been looked at so i will carry on in my quest. once again cheers for that carl.

i will look into the exhaust clamps as there is soot around them i have nicked them up but i don,t think they are sealing fully.

Get some of these, much cheaper that Honda parts for more or less the same thing, although the marine grade as Wicky mentions will last longer.
