Hi All,

I'm after some help on pricing my bike to sell - Bike is currently SORN, no MOT and has been sat in my garage for approx 2 years unused and unloved.

Bike is a Black 2001 Y plate with approx 10,000 on the clock.
Excellent Condition (albeit being standing for such a long period)
Fitted with Pyramid Bellypan, and also a hugger (don't know the brand)
Blueflame 'Evo' cans
Optimate
Clearly the bike would have to be picked up by van/trailer, and would need new tyres and a good service, but it is still in excellent condition otherwise

What price do you think I could ask for this?
(Located in Milton Keynes if anyone would like to come and have a look)

Is it a 19L tank model with digital clocks? as this would add value.

Having it MOT'd / taxed and up and running would help in selling it and increasing the value rather than selling as is.

To help establish what folk are paying - keep a track on similar private sales for the same age Firestorms on ebay (dealer ones will be up to £500 more than a private sale) - but I guesstimate approx £1750 - £2000 if the milage is that low.

You might also want to consider selling separately the cans and belly pan / hugger and selling the bike as standard, as the mods won't significantly add to the value.

I'm pretty sure its the older model with the smaller tank unfortunately.
I don't have the time/inclination to get it back on the road, I've totally fallen out of love with riding, but would rather see it go to an enthusiast on here who would put it to good use!
Mileage is definitely around the 10k mark, need to get a new battery ordered to confirm this.
Only other thing I forgot to mention is that it is missing the seat cowl.

Considering I paid about 12 years ago £4500 from a dealership for my Storm with 6k on the clocks, £1200 is a bargain.

They shouldn't rev it that high unless it's in gear and going along, really.......

In my vast experience of the famous Firestorm I definately recommend removing the hugger and bellypan, two worthless items of bodywork that lower the value of the bike. I'm more than happy to help you remove and dispose of these.

Joking aside, realistically they wont add much re-sale value. He's probably better off selling them separately.

Bugger me , I just paid 1600 to get my 2001 engine fixed. I could have had a whole new bike with less mileage on for that and some change . Just put my body work on and I got me bike back on the road .
