My I pod was on shuffle when I was sat on my flight back from Turin Saturday morning (should have been Friday night but they cancelled it ) and it played California Über Alles by the Dead Kennedys.....I had forgotten how good they were ... A proper slam dancing, in your face, whirlwind of a song.

I then searched for their banned chart hit "Too Drunk to F*ck" and played that as well.......cheered me right up and made me glad to be old

Saw an old Top Of The Pops for late 70s [not with Jimmy Saville! thankfully ] and in with all the disco crap was The Jam doing their 1st TOTPs with In The City...............that song still stands well today


And in case you think I am just an old punk and only like these types of songs ............. the last concert I went to was Leonard Cohen and that was a masterclass in live performance and I had forgotten what a good song Suzanne was

he is one artist that now links 3 generations of my family! almost everything my dad listened to I hated [as you would expect as that is the definition of the generation gap], but Johnny Cash Live as SanQuinten album was the exception. And then he came back into fashion when he did the America # series of albums with Ric Rubin [everybody has to listen to Hurt!, I want that played at my funeral], and I play both his old and new stuff to my kids and now they make their friends listen to it.

i like to listen to some of the oldies to meat loaf , queen ,and even neil diamond

Pretty varied tastes here - From popular classical to thrash with plenty of Blues, Classic rock in between.
Always Rock as first choice though.....Went to see W.A.S.P last week at Rock City with my eldest daughter as she seems to be following in my footsteps . Last time I'd seen them was at Donington in 87 ....still belting em out though

I was there in 87 ! as a spotty yoooth. Sporting my best denim outfit, smart mullet and dodging bottles of piss. Ahh those were the days.
Though I'm more than amazed that Blackie Lawless is still alive.
88' was better with Guns, and Maiden.

I like a bit Johnny Cash. I like John Denver too Crosby, Still & Nash would be on my list as well. And the wonderful Neil Young.
