Hi all just a quick one for you all, im after a head light up-grade and figured you lot of most of you lot will have already completed that little job so come on guys ....hit me........

thats all you need. difference is astounding.

just fitted the 100/90w to steve's bike so no doubt he will comment later how much brighter they are.

dont bother with hids in the standard lamp, theyre crap.

I have 100/90 and a relay loom fitted to mine . Very happy with it :-)

You can also go all the way and upgrade to a Projector Light, that was one of the best upgrades I had and worth every penny once you see the results, here is a link to the SH - US site and all the info' on how to and where to get it from:

As nice as projectors would be, we have pretty strict guidelines over here and I don't think they will pass an MOT. You guys don't need MOT's in the states but here we have to have a yearly inspection of a vehicles roadworthyness.

I think you can get away with it, my dad has HID projectors in his '06 Sprint ST and he still managed to pass an MOT

HID's are fine on bikes as your only changing the bulbs and will pass unlike on cars, but the projectors that NHSH is talking about are a totally different kettle of fish as they are like shining a light through a magnifying glass and I think you loose the low and high beam angles.

Think VTR steve uses one would be good to hear from him and how he got on with it, ive been considering fitting a projector into a housing for best part of a year or two

Not sure about how much angle requirement you have with the MOT, it seems to have a wide angle, as long as you get the real stuff and not a knockout. You do have very definitive cut out line for low/high beam. Also, several bikes like BMW's already coming with OEM HID projector, so if they pass and you did the installation correctly and work in the same manner you should pass theoretically.
Just another note:
If you install an HID light bulb without a projector into a clear head light such as the VTR, it will distribute the light incorrectly and will in fact be more confusing and give less viability for the rider, but will blind upcoming traffic at the same time! This type of set up can only work on the older style headlight lens that are not clear made to distribute the light with the lens only.
