Just picked this up for my 7 year old lad .its a yamaha pw80 !!
It needs a little work and my son and I will be doing it together .

So far it needs a carb to airbox pipe and a oil pipe that's it :-)
But as I only have my lad on a Sunday this might take some time to finish :-(

What I sorry we lol plan to do to it is --
Powder coat frame swing arm and put some new stickers on it and some new boots .
And a recover the seat .

Nice one Lloydie, it's a good way to spend some quality time with your boy and pass on some of your skills and knowledge. I suppose you will keeping it Blue as you don't want to fast for him

Yep I thought a blue one would be just right for a 7 year olds first bike :-)
Having a good look at it 8-) it looks like someone has put a updated front end on it with a disc brake :-)
And I'm not to sure if its a py80 or a pw80 but both are really the same

Just got back out the garage as I had to have a look and found more things need doing :-)
Left hand engine case had a hole in it (easy fix as its plastic)
Rear shock past it . Throttle cable outer damaged .
All the parts are very cheep for this little bike :-)
And it's a good thing that I got it for free of a friend :-)

His mum is ok with it as she used to be a pillion on my bikes when we were together and she knows I will teach him right .
My friend has a large field not to far away so my lad can use it on that without worry from the police taking it off him . So that's a good thing :-)

Some body armour next  Is it your turn to have for Crimbo this year? Tht will make it a real special Christmas to wake up to that. You will need a fair bit of wrapping paper. And how are going to explain Santa getting that down the chimney

Nice one Lloydie. I bought my eldest two a KX80 when they were 9 and 7. They both loved it (still do) and both went on to ride bigger and better things. My daughter now has a CBR600RR my son stopped at a 125, but loved bikes.
