fork rebound adjuster

Post by davew »

could anyone tell me how many turns the front rebound adjuster screw should have with and without the damper rod taper modification , hopefully will save me taking forks apart to see if mod has alredy been done ,presuming that the taper mod will give more adjustment.

Not possible, although a good try. The damper rod taper modification only reprofiles the end, doesn't make it appreciably shorter.
Also the rod screws into the top (adjuster) section and is locked in place by a locknut, sometimes these aren't set properly and so you get different damper rod lengths in each leg.

It's not much work to pull the legs off, and at least that way you can get almost all of the old oil and crud out, clean them properly and rebuild.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
