Good evening with a sad tale...

Hi everyone....
Got my '98 Firestorm on monday night (fancied one for ages) and love riding it to bits.
The sad bit is that on Wednesday night it decided to do the Honda camchain tensioner thing
Pulling away from traffic lights at a steady pace there came a terrible clanking sound. The motor ran fine , just with this regular clanking like someone hitting the engine with a steel hammer.
Just hoping that it is just the tensioner gone (ordered some manual ones from US) and that there is no further damage. But knowing my luck there will be.
Can't wait to get it back... It's rekindled my love of biking after trudging around on an XJR1200.
It is presently residing in our bike club clubhouse shop awaiting diagnosis.

I'm in Wrexham N.Wales but the bike is in Connahs Quay.
Luckily it happened about a quarter of a mile from the clubhouse (which is also a bike repair shop

)
Just having a nice glass of cider to calm my concerns

Thanks for the welcomes btw.

Oh that's not good. Have a good read through the workshop knowlagebase on setting the timing. If it's only jumped three teeth then there's a good chance you have got away with it. At worst it's likely that you have bent a couple of valves.

That's real bad luck mate

That finger could be misinterpreted.
