moto gp moving to bt sport

Post by callam_nffc »

so its been confirmed today that moto gp is moving to a new "bt sport" channel in a five year deal starting from next season

Espn has been bought out and is shutting down on 31st July to make way for the new channels starting on the 1st August.

for those of you who have bt broadband, you'll get it for free anyway

but sky users will have to pay 12 quid a month for the extra couple of channels

I will subscribe purely because I watch the UFC already, so it makes no odds to me price wise.

but who is going to keep watching it at a premium price? I'm sure many won't from now on....

Yea i read about it in Wednesdays MCN i was a bit pissed off to say the least, the BBC had done a great job recently with the coverage and the intros and work they had put into the editing

how much has this Voice sh1t cost to have on the BBC thats a load of wombles gash that crap and a sh1t load of other rubbish shows they do, prancing about on ice and sh1t like that (is that BBC i don't know? i don't watch any of that baldrocks)

its took me four years of blagging to get people at work now hooked on MotoGP, and its only this year they have all started to really watch it,

but i'm sure like me they wont want to pay a fee to watch two races a month or thereabouts

Wonder how much BT has paid for it?

saying that, all the people who have espn will probably happily pay 12 quid for it as that's less than espn and your getting more for your money

plus bt broadband customers will already have it for free

That's a shame I was just getting into watching the odd race on BBC. I wouldn't pay for any TV, they can all stick it up themselves. I suppose it juts a good job that we have the internet, so maybe there will be some pirated way of watching it.

It's like the cricket which I bite the bullet in paying for full sky sports via Virgin as they bounce it between Sky 1, 2 & 3 despite having no interest in the footy. Such a shame after the Ashes turnaround when it featured on C4 that it got lost to most folk, who missed the second Ashes home victory.

On that basis It wouldn't be too bad if folk have the choice of subscribing to their specific sports. I hope they repeat the GP racing on an accessible channel at a later time, or at least the hand-me-downs highlights.

It is a shame the BBC really have pulled out there fingers and started delivering good build up and great coverage, I won't pay 12 quid a month for maybe 2-3 races at most if we have some back to back, I do hope bt get shafted
