Front vac take off

Post by Ckennedy »

Does anyone have a front vac take off? Want to get my carbs balanced but in need of one of these. Could do with it by Sunday this week.

Anyone able to help before I have to order a set from a shop? Would rather give a few quid to one of you lot

As a quick fix, get you out of trouble, any one who has an old engine can take their rear one out. I know this as I went to take the brass one out of 'Ole Red to swap on to Drooper & It just mangled the screw head being only very thin brass. The one on the rear cylinder is steel & has a small hex base. It came out no worries.

So if any one can help & lend Chris one for the weekend I'm sure he'll send it back when done, & be forever in your debt, or buy you a tea or something.

Failing that get some from Carbtune , they only sell packs of four, fit it & sell the others on here.

Or keep for other bits you may need some hose for, like a Scotoiler or something. Carbtune are very quick with delivery http://www.carbtune.co.uk/carbaccs.html I recommend them. They also do the brass connectors. IIRC I think it's 5mm that is required for the Storm.

Don't forget to leave a vacuum tube (blanked off) on front cylinder to allow for easier balancing in future!

Thanks for the reminder.
Also ck have you got a t piece on the rear vac pipe ?
If not you will need one too
Halfords sell them 5mm T piece .
I should have enough vac pipe for it to be left on your bike but I will check later to make sure .
Oh bring a few cable tie too I've ran out !
