Bloody hell, I know it's been warm down there but that's taking global warming a bit too far.
Pm Seb, he'll probably take it of you if you caught it.

looks like a corn snake .
Re: ID req on snakey fing
My first thought was some kind of Coral snake, maybe a baby, but it's lacking any Black marks. I don't know I'm now expert. I would have loved to have found one of them though.
I expect being where you are there is bound to be loads of pets escaped. It's the Gators you need to watch out for.

I'm locking the doors, plugging keyholes and taking extra care when on the loo

It's not snakes in the toilet you need to worry about. It's the rats coming back up through the sewage system, around the U bend and biting your elbow.
As for Adders, I watched a interesting programme the over day about Britain's native wildlife that is going extinct. The majority of Britain's adders now populate Greenham common.

It's a snake.
Poss Coral, nothing to worry about, stick it under your floor boards to keep the mouse population down.
Might be worth asking neighbours if they have lost one...or check local lamp posts for a missing snake poster, there might be a reward...

It is a corn snake. The colou morph is an amel corn snake. Harmless very common as pets due to their calm nature.
They are escape artisits from vivariums, also this time of year owners put them in the garden for "a walk" get distracted turn around and it's legged it. They can more pretty fast.
Probably belongs to someone local.

It would be fast if it had legs.
