Hi guys and girls, I am an accidental VTR newbie (originally went for another GSXR) but am really enjoying the bike

I live in the Hebrides and it suits the roads nicely. For some reason it seems to look slightly different from other ones I see, not sure why though

maybe its just me. Anyway cheers everyone

Welcome aboard, lets hope its the only accident you have. Why do you think it is different?

I am not sure really, it has a set of Scorpions, black screen (bike is black) and a few other bits and bobs (previous owner) that just seem to make it look a bit different. My brother saw a few pics of it and also said it looks cool and a bit different, must be the colour scheme and exhausts. I like it though, its really growning on me. I hate the front end though, under braking it just feels soooooo wooden AND the headrace bearings chatter under braking so I am going to have to look at that

Welcome
Is it maybe a later model? They seem less common than the earlier model and there are subtle differences between the looks (and a huge difference in the dash

)

WOW what a warm welcome, thanks guys. I have been on some sites in the past (cars) where they are absolutely vile

no so on this great gathering
The bike is a 2001 but old style (clocks etc) its a cracking bike. I am used to GSXR, ZX9 etc, never owned a v twin and........who would have thought it (not me) I love it

what an utterly underated bike. There is a 954 front end in the for sale ads, I will find out if its for sale and look into changing the front end. The motor though OOOOOHH la la, its great. So thirsty though, yes it has a small tank etc BUT its still thirsty no matter how you look at it. I use it for commuting 70mls a day (open country) and, well.....playing is the only true way of describing it

there are virtually no police on the island and I am remote soooooo its QUITE good

you just have to watch for deer and sheep, its no joke actually as if you hit a stag you ae probably dead. At dusk its VERY dangerous, you just need to use your noggin and slow right down at night. Anyway sorry I am rambling
