Now have LED's all round.

Ever since I got the Storm the blinkers gave me the shits.

Now there gone and I'm happy!!!,

Yes it can be a problem when too many mods descend on your garage

The integral rear light ones aren't very bright.
I tried these for a while, wasn't happy that people could see me from behind- especially the rear three-quarters view.
Then I ran into UK MOT test probs so ended up with a pair of tiny ones either side of the number plate bracket as well. I switch the integral ones off for the MOT test. (wired with a small two-pole switch for this purpose, under the seat).

But because I run high level cans they tuck in and aren't obtrusive.

I also tried the integral mirror indicators to do away with the fairing mounted ones, but then they were'nt very bright either, so again I'm running tose plus a pair of teardrop fairing mounts.

Do your triangular ones full cover the fairing holes or did you fill in and respray then start over?

Looks better, though.

They cover the fairing holes.

Made up a bracket for behind the fairing out of some stainless to be able to position them properly.

As we say here in Oz, a piece of piss!

Great result for a little effort!

Am thinking about some auxiliary LED's on the rear that will bolt onto the bottom of the license plate.

Can't be too cautious when it comes to tin tops EH!

How long did it take to polish the engine casings??

I did them when I did the flywheel and electric water pump.

It was easy as they were of the bike.

Removed the original finish with a dremel and then used various grades of wet and dry by hand to get the desired finish.

Then polished the crap out of them by hand as well as I wanted them just right. I also removed the branding as well.

Lots of people ask me what sort of bike it is, I stopped for a coffee on the way to work yesterday and a guy asked me what sort of Ducati it was because his neighbour has a Duc and he said mine sounded like his neighbours but didn't have a rattley noise like his neighbours.

I find that amusing

Sorry, forgot to say it took about 10 hours for the two cases.

Kenmoore, if you wanted more lights, or just to eliminate the fairing mounted turn signals, you could always go this route:
Image

Like mentioned above, the clear tailight with integrated turn signals isn't very bright at all. I ended up changing to the tinted version (mainly for looks) and I swear that the LED's are just a little brighter. One day, my Dad was following me on his bike and told me to not ride my bike again without a brighter tailight, because he could barely tell when I hit the brakes. So, I just stuck these guys to the bottom of the tailight (picture below) and they work fantastic. They are very bright. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-LED-Motorcy ... 86&vxp=mtr

Edit: P.S., Kenmoore, I love that F**k it sticker on the right fairing. Funny as hell :biggrin

The sticker is my mantra in a sense.

All my riding mates can't understand why I love my bike so much especially having regard to some of the exotic machinery I have owned.

Every mod that I have done has had a purpose for the use that my bike gets.

It goes like stink and munches miles like nothing.

I have spent too much on it but just can't stop.

Every mod has improved the bike to the point that I now want to ride a standard one to feel the difference.

Will I stop now , ha I don't think so.

Doubtless I will add some more subtle LEDs for visibility but I am in no hurry.

There is a Lott of detail in my bike, you have to look closely, but it is there.

I was in a garage getting some fuel one day up in Brisbane Queensland and I was resting after having ridden 800Klms with another 120 to go and this guy walks past and says he has a Storm.

My bike was loaded up with tank bag and soft panniers so he says looks like you are on a trip.

I replied that I had another 120 to go and then another 1500 before I get home.

He said nice bike and started asking questions then he saw the F It sticker and asked me what it was.

I replied that I had done some mods to the bike and he acknowledged that and said, but what is that sticker.

I couldn't help my self and said that the sticker was from a Japanese tuning house called wombles, and that I had some of their parts on my bike.

He said, "Oh yeah I have heard of them"

I was still laughing 20 K's down the road!
