Hey guys!

That's it, I have done it!. After several weeks wondering if the VTR was better than the CBR600 or was it better to get a ducati instead of a honda vtr etc etc.. I found a cheap one on ebay and just went for it. I got it yesterday and I instantly loved it just by looking at it. The pictures don't do it justice at all..

The bike: The bike cost me 1600£, is from 1999 and has full fairing, Datatool imobiliser, 23k miles and fsh. I think it was an ok price for the bike. I had a street triple before and its worlds apart from this one. I am still trying to understand how better / how worse the bike is, but for now I'll just say its really different. I sold my striple because I was having security issues and it was a lot of money each time I had to repair the bike. I bought this one cause she's not as desirably looking as the triumph and a lot cheaper.

The ride: first bike w/ fairing makes it a lot better to ride at higher speed. Riding position is ok on arms, not so much on the legs. I am 5"8 so not tall at all.. probably due to never had done yoga in my life.. Pretty sick ride though, loved every minute of it (the cold weather didn't help at all but I had a new toy in my hands so..)

So I have a new bike now and spotted some minor things I'd like to change. I will continue this conversation elsewhere in this forum.

Cheers all
Otto

Yeah, a lot of londoners here, cool.. To be honest I don't remember ever to have seen a VTR on the streets of London. I am sure I am going to be noticing them a lot better from now on.

ITs not red. Red is too flashy. Remember: I am trying to avoid chavs stealing/vandalising my personal property :P... I am not sure that the color is going to make a big difference though as it's really really cool looking as it is.. So I got the blue one. Not the electric blue, the other one.. Once I have pictures of the bike I'll post them.

Oh it may have a discreet color, but the sound man.. Once you start it you really have to be dead not to notice it. Really loud pipes. (I am getting a sudden urge to go outside and start the bike just for the pleasure of it eheh) They may have "honda" written on them but I am pretty sure that they are not road legal. I remember being really impressed with the sound of the 749 but the sound of this VTR may be almost as cool as the duc..

Loving it so far!

Ahhh a discerning individual capable of making his own decisions and not one for following the herd of red/yellow/black. You are to be applauded my friend, and i'm completely unbiased!!!!

Probably had a Bafflectomy done to them to remove the baffles.
