Hi everyone. Im new here obviously, my names phil. Just picked up a pristine firestorm. Never really desired one of these but a good px deal came up and i ended up with one. Upon removing the panels etc to give it a real good clean i have fell in love with it. What a bike for the money! The more i look at it the more i like it.
Im obviously gonna give it a service. Can anyone tell me anything to look out for or what needs doing to safe guard it. I have read about cct's and they seem pretty straight forward. Is it best to swap them with new ones or fit different ones and if so where to get them from? Any other things i need to check on the bike?
Cheers guys, look forward to getting to know you.
Phil.

Hello and welcome .
The things to check for are
1. Ccts - manuals or stopper mod .
2. Rear Suspension linkages .
3. Reg/rec
4. Starter motor bolt
5. Brake caliper clean and refurb
.
Use the search box as all these have been covered many time :-)

Welcome aboard
Lloydie has answered your questions. If you intend to do the CCT's yourself, follow our instructions on here for setting up the valve timing before removing the old ones. The majority of us on here will say fitting new CCT's is not the best option, as you're still open to possible failure at some point. The stopper mod, or fitting manual CCT's seem to be the better option,
Chris.

All the MCCT's are pretty much the same. A lump of metal with a threaded bar running through the centre. All your left with is the choice in price, colour and shape.
