Going to be collecting my VTR on friday and I'm really looking forward to it. I've been away from bikes for arpund 3 years, my last bike being a 650 VSTROM that I covred 60000 miles on in 3 years commuting. Before that I owned an RSVR and an R1 track bike.
I decided to buy a VTR on the spur of the moment and its really only for the summer. I've always fancied one though. Got it off ebay, 2001 model and it doesn't look bad at all. I dare say I'll be buying goodies for it.

Yes it was. 80 miles a day across rural suffolk/Cambridgeshire. I got so fed up with riding I ended up buying a fiesta van.
I've always had soft spot for the VTR and twins in general. I also owned a TLR 1000, very nice bike but handled like pig.
Well the plan is to keep it for the summer but it wouldn't suprise me if I've still got it next year.

I know that feeling raggydan. I bought mine on impulse because it was cheap and sounded awesome but was pretty tired thinking when it died I would send it off to the breakers yard in the sky. Now a little hooked on the poor thing and spending many hours on making it nice and shiny again! Perhaps I should just buy a newer shinier one but where's the fun in that :D

welcome to the forum dan, these bikes are addictive, for the money you pay, there isn't much that comes close, speed, fun, lowest insurance group of any 1000cc, reliability of a old school Honda, the torque factor... :biggrin
it's very rare these bikes stay standard for long, put you're own stamp on it, just don't get carried away like some of us.... :(
