I should be picking this up at the end of the month.

It's a half completed Firestorm streetfighter project, that I'm gonna convert back to fully faired spec with some nice performance mods. Overall it looks pretty clean and it comes with a new Ohlins rear shock & Sprint steering damper.

The current plan is:
USD front end - from a blade, or R1 maybe.
Brace the swingarm - stop it flexing so much.
Engine mods - Up the jetting in the carbs, get high compression pistons, lightened conrods & flywheel. Possibly get some flatside carbs if I can find em, but they're rarer than hens teeth.
Twin MotoGP style stubby cans - let the beast roar.
Powdercoat the frame & swingarm - black or gunmetal grey maybe.
HID headlight up front.
Petrol tank - gonna get it modified for a higher capacity, as the early storms struggle to do 100 miles to a tank.
Cosmetic mods like undertray, bellypan etc.

It's gonna take a long time to finish but should be something special at the end.

Now I'm off to go dig through info on the above mods, but if anyone here can give me some first hand experience with the above that would be great, specifically:
Aftermarket carbs OR best way to jet the OEM carbs for performance.
Which front ends fit, and how easily.
Engine mods, what performance gains can be had and where to buy them.

Can't wait to own a Firestorm again

As for front ends the cbr954/929rr 2001-2003 is a popular swop and very easy todo .

Looks like you have some good mods already and I'm liking your build plan but be carful as it's becomes very obsessive modding these bikes .

Is that the front end you have on your bike? Does it take the Firestorm front wheel or do you need a blade wheel?

Yeah the build plan is ambitious, I want to build the Firestorm that I think Honda SHOULD have built, which will mean a lot of work from the frame up.

No you will need all the 929/954 front end but you will need the 929 clipons as the 954 are to low .

I'll be fitting -
954 forks
06 yokes (15mm less off set than standard yokes )
07 wheels (lighter than standard)
05 calipers and master cylinder
Not sure yet on discs wether to fit 310mm or 330mm discs
But I will need to get a caliper bracket made to hold the radial calipers on the forks tho it'll be easier just to fit the 04-07 blade radial forks but as I have the 954 forks already I'll use them .

I'm already working on fitting the 07 6" rear wheel to a modded swing arm (braced and machined to take the 25mm wheel spindle) and hope that will be done in a month .

looks like it got some nice bits on it already so a good start for the perfect Storm. glad your putting clip-ons back on, as those bar mounts look very strange.... too high and too far forwards
