Givi and Leo vince high level

Post by Ivanovich »

Hello,

I'm going touring this summer with a passenger so i am looking for options for luggage, since she's probably not gonna like a big rucksack on her back...
I would have just bought some soft panniers to strap on, but i have these cool leo vince high level exhausts :cool2 which would probably set them on fire before we get far...

So my only option i guess, is the dreaded givi rack with a top box. However, does anyone know if there's enough clearance between the rack and the pipes with this setup?

I have looked at a lot of pictures and reckon that it will just fit, but its hard to know beforehand, so if anyone has seen the setup i would be happy to hear from you :)

I also need to fit the rack to mine next week, it going to be tricky with the two brothers, I might also have to adjust the ohlins remote preload adjuster....

very easy to change, as long as the two clamps holding the linkpipes to the standard headers haven't rusted, if they have, you'll need to cut them off and buy some new ones, also it might be worth getting two new graphite gaskets that help seal the links to the headers, I also use some high temp sealant for the best possible seal, it sounds hard but it isn't really, should take no more than 20mins if all goes to plan....

Lol yeah, maybe a trailer would be good...

No seriously. I will try mounting the stock pipes this weekend, and buy some panniers, anyone know these? https://www.louis.de/en/artikel/moto-de ... &ref=order

Another noob question here: is there anything else i have to consider when changing the pipes? Is it okay with the setting of carburettor, air intake and so on?

I always get my system checked if i change pipes, so far not needed to do anything, but i don't change jets or air filters etc. Those bags look good to me and seem cheap. Oxford are the main ones used in the UK but give them a go at that price. Good luck with the cans, spray GT85 or WD40 on all the joints the night before to aid removal ok
