Tumble, now Clutch won't work?

Post by Mav617 »

Hi All,

I had a very low speed off today, swerved to miss a car on my side of the road at a T Junction and the bike stalled and went down on the nearside. The gear lever was slightly bent, the exhaust can was pushed in but all seemed fine until I got back on and tried to put it into neutral. The box felt stiff, but after getting it into neutral, when I engaged first at tick-over with the clutch lever pulled in the bike rolled forward and stalled. Repeat.

I had to push it home in 26 degree heat, nearly had heart failure (for the second time, picking it up was bad enough). Luckily I was very close to home.

Anyone diagnose what I've damaged? :redface
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

Apart from you pride... Clutch push rod may be bent ?

Is the clutch lever OK ? Not deformed in anyway ?

Sounds like it's a clutch related issue as in not fully engaging...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Quite possibly it's just the clutch that needs bleeding.
If it hadn't rolled forward I'd have said sidestand cutout switch.
Try putting it in gear, engine off and pushing it forward. Pull the clutch in and see if it disengages properly.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Result. Probably some air got into the clutch reservoir inlet to the mc as you were picking it up- if you pull the lever in while it's on its side it will pump air into the system.
