Bent fork tubes - FRONT END NOW ON

Afternoon gents,
Have a bit of a dilemma, purchased some 929 forks off the bay 2 months ago, stripped them down yesterday to find the upper tubes are slightly bent. Didn't check them when I received them because the fool I bought them from said they were straight and true, and for some reason trusted him. He is a breaker and will be posting his name on every forum I can find, including here in the dodgy dealers section.

Anyhoo, does anyone recommend any one that can straighten them for me? They aren't bad, couldn't see the bends till I sat the tubes on my table. The bottom legs are fine, plus I have a spare set from a 954 I mistakenly bought!
They don't have creases, just an ever so slightly bend. Ive contacted Maidstone Motoliner and pitted forks, but no reply as yet. Want as many quotes as possible really.Been to the two engineering shops in my area but they cant do it. Any info would be great, thanks fellas

I only have the 954 bottoms mate, not the uppers! I mistakenly bought the bottoms thinking they were complete forks, but thought ill keep them as they were almost brand new and swap them over onto the forks I then bought. So im now stuck with 2 sets of lower stanchions and 1 set of bent uppers

I have a wheel at Motoliner at the moment, so I will tell you in a week what they are like. Tony.mon has also used them for wheels, but not sure about forks

from what ive heard and read, they are very good! just hope they dont want too much, i might as well just buy new forks then and sell the set i have as parts and make a little loss. cant be asked tho, got all my parts, want to fit them!!! lol

I've had forks, frames & wheels done by maidstone and found them brilliant.
If you find one of them is too knackered I have a spare 954 upper sitting in my garage gathering dust.

Well, Tommy at Maidstone managed to sort my fork tubes out!! So wont need that tube you have Kev, but thanks anyway for offering, much appreciated.

I stuck with 929 clip-ons, they work well but the throttle cable just catches the fairing but will sort that one out, not a biggy!!

I don't like the reduced steering lock though, I haven't filed the stops off from the bottom yoke yet, nor did I move the rads back. Will do that but was wondering if anyone could post a picture of how they moved their rads back. not sure the easiest way, thinking a bracket of some sort. Better to copy someone's design that works than me trying to work out the best way of doing it.

Throttle cable I have a 929 on mine and it's fine as it's a little longer .
As for the rad brackets they are very simple just a little 15mm wide plate and drill the holes the right distance apart to bring the rads back to where you like .

I don't have the brackets as I don't mind the reduced steering lock .

I used some Meccano strips- why re-invent the wheel....
The holes lined up ok, I just mounted the rad brackets one or two holes rearward.
