Hiya people
What a great forum! so much info shared freely and with a sense of humour. I am in the process of looking to buy a VTR within the next month or so, and have been looking at the "Must Do" caveats, so I now have 2 questions-1) has anyone used the MOSFET RR,s from Electrex world ( I have good history with them on other projects), and 2) How do I get the Bazza Manual CCT units modified- do I send my own, exchange whatever, and how much?- Right, back on with reading all the other stuff- so interesting!

Welcome aboard buddy
No info on the RRs
Most seem to use a Honda or r1 replacement
I will pm bazza, i believe he does it on a swop basis
What's your location?

welcome to the club, hope you find a good bike. whats your budget as there is a newer model for sale in Rugby form an owner on the Forum. It wont need manual CCTs as I fitted the stopper mod to that bike for its current owner

Thanks for the replies people! FYI I am in South Wales, and looking to spend as little as possible (too many kids), but have the advantage of being an ex bike mechanic turned design engineer, so can deal with most issues likely to arise- just really attracted to a straightforward, solid motorcycle (Previous bikes over the last 10 years were Yam XZT750, Triumph speed triple and Triumph 1200 daytona) so here we go!

A MOSFET is a step in the right direction. Don't forget the plug connectors too. A highly reliable R/R is no good if connectors then become the weak point.
Welcome along
