Scotland Yes or No?
Scotland Yes or No?
I know is a bike forum and I know politics is a contentious issue.
However, I am going to the polling booth on Thursday to answer a very important question "Should Scotland be an independent country?"
I am not going to tell you what way Im voting but I would be very interested in your thoughts and opinions. I have added the question as a poll so you guys can cast one vote.
The deal is though, if you vote in my poll you must back up your vote with an honest reason.

I think it's Mr Salmond's personal dream & he's ploughing on despite the possible ramifications to the long term issues it may cause.
I haven't been following it to deeply but I understand it will have huge impact on things like tax & pensions, isn't the NHS in Scotland hugely affected as well, as in London Gov won't be funding it any more...?
+ will we need a passport to come & ride up there on Al's Operation Storm Scotland ?

Re: Scotland Yes or No?
Voted No, the best way of getting Scotland free is to vote during local and national elections and get that Con/Dem crap out of the councils there. Scotland would be alot worse off economically too if it was to split. The political BS comming from all parties is annoying shame we all can't march on no 10 and get rid of those Bar$ward$ there and the capatilist system which is just for the rich hiking up prices with stealth taxes and screwing us all. I say call in the army seize back control of all the utilities which have been sold off (electric - water - gass - post office -etc etc) invest in them and slash prices. Seperate the morgage and interest rates too etc etc. It can be done but those private companies and those Con/Dems would hate that

Re: Scotland Yes or No?
you should have included a 'don't care' option, I'm pretty sure that would receive the most votes (in England at least)

Re: Scotland Yes or No?
Im not Scottish but I voted yes.
It's the lesser of two evils now.
It's either a yes vote, and they go their own way, make their own mistakes, or a no vote, and more powers from Westminster to borrow on their own with the rest of the country liable to pay it back at some point.
Just what we need, a part (a socialist part) of the UK given powers to borrow and spend more. It'll bankrupt us all. They already get free elderly care, free tuition fees and free prescriptions. What's next?

If you don't care don't comment, simple
Im looking for people to have an opinion and be able to express that opinion.

My opinion is I really don’t care either way it’s a decision for the Scots nobody else, but If you want to do a survey on what people think (especially) north of the border a ‘don’t care’ option should be included to gauge and reflect the general apathy most non Scots seem to display on this matter,Jazzscot wrote:budd wrote:you should have included a 'don't care' option, I'm pretty sure that would receive the most votes (in England at least)

Re: Scotland Yes or No?
I just wanted to note that our separatists here in Quebec are watching this with bated breath (would imagine it's the same in Catalunya)... I expect their utopian drivel to fire up if the Scots vote yes....
Personally (guess I have a right to an opinion, my mom's maiden name was Sinclair, lol), I think it makes little sense. We live in a world where we will all be increasingly forced to compete with economic superpowers like China and India, and for this reason alone, it makes no sense to split up into even smaller factions...... Sadly, it seems that there are those out there who are totally bent on getting their names in the history books as the founders of a country, and they're willing to do whatever it takes (economic and social upheaval) to do so.....
