Fireblade help!
Fireblade help!
Right peeps! My brother has an 05 Blade, he had it running 2weeks ago and all was well. Today he was going to service it but when he went to start it to warm it up before dropping the oil it wouldn't go! The usual procedure is ignition on, speedo and rev counter needles spin round to Max and at the same time there's a buzz ( which I'm assuming is Hondas version of what would be an Exup valve on a Yam resetting) start it up! Well, its missing the valve reset noise! Turns over but doesn't start! We didn't really have time to look at it so thought I'd get your inputs before we do. Anyone come across this before?

Re: Fireblade help!
If its anything like the SP then the buzz is the fuel pump priming. No buzz, no fuel pump, no start. If thats the case, check fuse or connections to pump (both ends) Might be lucky.

Re: Fireblade help!
I always thought that the buzz was the fuel pump, worth checking the fuses

Re: Fireblade help!
Silly question but did you have the kill switch in the on position?

Re: Fireblade help!
don't think the valve works like a Yam exup valve, it's located in the silencer section so if a race can is fitted it's removed. Fuel pump as mentioned seems to be the first place to look.

Re: Fireblade help!
Agreed but usually the fuel pump fails prior the the Hiss system. the only issue i have come across with the Hiss system is if you loose your key. Stix can you remember where yours is???partygirl wrote:Daft question, my other half (fireblade riding traitor) says are you using your normal ignition key as the HSS system immobiliser can kick in and thats the same symptoms

Re: Fireblade help!

Have a look here Watty.......

Second hand I know but £80 for a pump COMPLETE with tank seems cheap by comparison.
