Clutch, Finally getting round to working on storm

Afternoon all.
Well Ive finally got round to it, its been under cover for 2 years!
Got the clutch basket center nut of this afternoon.
Ive got a number of question, please help.
1. Should there be play in the needle roller bearing in the center of the clutch basket?
2. When I got the basket off I noted that the springs in the back of the basket gear rattle a hell of alot, almost like they have lost their tension, would this cause problem?

I cant feel any play in the mainshaft bearing so hoping thats ok, going to pull the oil pump and check that, thats within service limit, change the water pump bearing and check the water pump, clutch hub bearing or replace whole basket, and lift bearing, once Id got the basket off I noted that the springs on the spilt gear are very weak, is that normal?

Then I'll switch to other side of engine and go through that aswell, as clutch slave has gone and leaked all its fluid.
I'm going to check everything for tolerances and service limits as per the manual, is there anything I need to be aware of?
Just want some pointer is all
Tony

Sat and looked at the needle bearing in the centre of the clutch hub and I can move the roller cage up and down and the needles coating has started to lift.
Mates whos a mechanic, says it feels like the roller bearing has gone.
