The final waiting and praying begins....

Post by mik_str »

dropped off the totality of the parts at the garage today for the rebuild (balanced crank, bearings, gaskets,...). I sure hope everyone gets it right this time....... this 2.5 month dry spell sucks....... am having them play with the cams; will be putting the Mori Stg 1 exhaust cam in the intake position (249 degrees, 10.1mm lift - making it half-way between the OEM and Mori intakes). I asked to have it set at 102 degrees. On the exhaust side, OEM exh. cams timed at 108 degrees (107.5 is OEM spec). This gives me a total of 37 degrees overlap, and combined with the early intake timing, should move the power downwards slighty (torque peak at maybe 6500 rpm), but placing it right where I want it, in the critical (to me) 3500 to 7000 rpm range, with instant response and torque for roll-ons and pulling out of corners; I seldom ever rev it to 8000 or higher so a surge of power at 8K+ is of little use to me....... here's to hoping it works out.

On another note, getting the bike back will allow me to bolt up and test that HRCPro-replica subframe brace..... Hope to have the HDJ-equipped carbs back from Factory Pro any day now too (or so I hope anyhow).... more stuff that looks good on paper....

anyhow, me rant is overrrrrrrrr for today.... :)

Yeh I second that.

Sounds good, not too extreme.
