Crankcase End Cap

Use a good sharp centre punch, make a good indent about 4mm in from the edge, then hammer the punch again at a 45* angle to undo...remember 'Lefty Loosey'

As yours is so mangled already also try...use the biggest allen bit you have to fit wehats left of the hole & give it several sharp hits with a hammer to break the corrosion... Some heat migth help as well...

Remember 4mm in from the edge. Just make sure Bono doesn't get in the way...

i have never got one of these off without knackering in it. I generally keep a spare new one now..... do like the custom made ones though

Not right on the edge.
The edge is overhanging the main threaded section and so is unsupported.
As said, centre punch, but aim 4mm in from the outer edge.
That way you are punching onto a stronger section, directly over the threaded section.

if you have small grinder the wheel spanner has 2 pins. Measure them for dia and centres and drill 2 holes across the cover. Lube up overnight then had a go using the Grinder spanner.

Someone's had a go at that cause it wasn't like that when it left my man cave u can see the chisel marks

I took the bike in for a service bout 3 months ago but I don't know if he would have tried to take it off? I know I haven't touched it - I just wanted to change it cos it was letting the bike down... tbh the picture makes it look a lot worse than it is - I put a hex key in it today and it fits quite snug I just haven't put any pressure on it yet till I get the new ones. I have a friend who runs a garage nearby so if I have trouble i'll go and see him he has donkeys years of experience and every tool u can think of. I'll post a pic when it's done - still lovin the bike done about 1200 miles on it, whenever the sun's been out!

Been there, done that.. have had that problem more than once before now. First time I had trouble.. the cap being aluminium meant I could tap a slightly over sized torx bit into the hole to undo it... last time it was a hammer and chisel and boy did it take some moving.

All done, the old ones came off using a punch and a hammer.
