My partner has one. Great little bike. Keep in mind they are small. If the person is large they may find it to small. Hers has 135,000ks on it. Goes great and uses no oil. I have fitted a Hornet 900 cam chain tensioner is all.

I have had three Hornet 600's all have been fantastic bikes, they will do commuting and ride outs, they are very skinny bikes to great for getting through traffic.

Having said that I had a Hornet 900 and to be honest I thought the 600 was the better bike.`

If it's just being used as a run around, I'd suggest a bandit. An equivalent would cost 700 quid. Spares are dirt cheap.

They're crap for fast riding. But mines just used for commuting

The Hornet's finish is better, a mate has two Fazers, and I had one of the early Hornets, put 30K+ in 3 years, nowt but oil changes, tyres and fuel.
A can make sit sound a bit better and is quite a lot lighter than the std heavy one, but doesn't add much power.

They're fun. And you can rag them senseless without risking your license too much.

Buy.

But avoid the early 16" front wheel ones, it handles fine, but you have a more limited choice of rubber.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
