That combination of master cylinder and calipers should be a big step-up from the stock VTR parts. You will need to file some material away from either caliper or fork leg (or both) to fit these, and also space them off the fork leg by 3mm (I used 2 x 1.5mm washer superglued to the fork leg) to get the calipers to centre on the discs.

go to a Yacht chandlery and get S/S ones that wont rust.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

I didn't realise you had to space the calipers off the fork legs to center the disc's,

The pistons ideally need to be in the middle to get equal movement. shimming them needs to be done on some set ups to make sure all is in alignment.

D'oh!

Sorry everybody. I may have confused myself there regarding the spacers. :wtf:

Spacers ARE needed when you use VTR forks on a VFR800 with 600F4i calipers. But they're NOT needed on VTR forks fitted to a VTR. Too many modified bikes in my garage (but don't tell my wife I said that...).

No problem, easy mistake to make. It was just that I've read about plenty on this forum who have carried out this front caliper mod to the Firestorm with no mention of spacing them off the fork legs that was all.

No we won't tell your wife, now where did I put that phone number again  :shh:
