So I leave work about 16.00...

Just getting me lid on next to the bike & a Fire Engine flashes past all blues n twos heading the way I'm gonna be going...Hmmm.

Ride off not far down the road is a Fire Person with a sign closing the left lane. I stopped & he came over to me & tells me the road is closed due to an oil spill & a Biker has come off... 8O Says I can ride down the queue but watch for the oil.

So I bimble down the que of cars & find said FE parked across & blocking the road.

Another guy is there on a suzuki so I stops gets off & goes to talk to him... The fire persons are puttin bloody sand down on the oil spill... Down the road is an abulance & two bill cars...

Another fire person comes up to the tender to put his broom away & comes over to us...Just watch the oil when you go lads one bike has already been off.

Then one of the bill cars reverses up towards us & starts putting signs & cones out to block the left lane.

A third bike has joined us by now...after a bit of faffing about the bill man comes over to us & says wont be long now guys but when you go stay to the right to avoid the sand & oil... I says hows the guy who came off...Oh he has facial injuries he was wearing an open face lid...DOH !

I asked if we could just pull infront of the truck that was at the head of the que & bill said yes...couple of mins later he drives off & waves us off...

Bimbled past the sand & just in front of the ambulance on it side stand is some factory chopper type bike didnt look to bad damage wise but didnt see what make.

Later on I see a bike broken down on the opposite carrige way by the central res...guy was tinkering but know way for me to stop or to help...

Next roundabout...a van & a big commuta scooter were exchanging details, again couldnt see any damage but the scoot was facing the wrong way... :confused

So I made it home, put the bike away, gets me kit off puts the kettle on sits down with a coffee & a smoke...The phone rings...

Vanstub calling from A&E.... 8O

Tells me he has stuck his Storm into some trees after being a bit fast into a bend & missing the braking point & then choosing the trees over a head on...!

No major injuries just a few bumbs & bruises...Totaled left faring, screen & clip on & a few other bits...he's popping over to see Frank on Thursday.
Franks sorting the screen, clip on & poss the foot rest hanger but cant help with the plastics any left hand faring panels about folks ? Black prefered but happy to paint...

Still could have been worse...This from yesterday...

How the hell do you lose a trailer ?

Using the NHS like that can sometimes be classed as escape and evasion. Evading any possible awkwardness with Plod if they turn up on the scene as at times if they think your hurt enough they leave you alone and don't nik you as you have suffered enough.....not. The tree's may sue you though if the council get word of it.

Good to hear you wasn't badly injured. Shrubbery is defo the better option.

Theres no proof, Steve may be making it up...No plaster casts...until I see the bruises or smashed Storm bits...

Marty had witnesses...Infact he'd still be in the ditch if me & Steve hadn't been there to pull him out...
