Which Rear Shock ????

Probably been covered many times before, but I'm thinking of changing my 15 year old and tired standard rear shock on the FireStorm, so just wondered what the general census of opinion is from you lot on what would be a good replacement.
To give some idea of my usage and set up at the moment, front forks have already been ROGERED, standard brakes with standard Honda pads, which I must add I'm very happy with, I only need it for road use, not track days, not for commuting or touring, just leisure rides out in the summer months, although I do tend to do long rides out, anything from 150 to 500 miles a day on all types of roads, but mainly A and B roads, and occasionally carry a passenger.

Popkat can get YSS shocks...drop him a line, not sure if ther is a discount on that, margins are usually tight on these things, but you never know...

any aftermarket rear shock will be an improvement over standard. buying used isn't always a bargain, as it would probably need servicing and to be re-sprung to your weight.
i've bought a new hagon in the past, and it failed rather quickly, but was repaired foc.
i currently use a fully adjustable ohlins nowadays, very happy with it, i couldn't afford a new one, so blagged a secondhand one and hed it serviced and re-sprung.
matched to the rodgered frond end, your bike will handle soooo much better.

Yes I can supply a YSS, price wise I'll always do my best for anyone on here.

I could also supply Nitron if you want to spend more.

kev, as you often carry a passenger you should think about also getting the hydraulic preload adjuster, and because you will have a spring more suited to your weight it will be much more obvious when you get Adam sitting on the back.

Nitron gets my vote with remote adjuster but basic damping on a single clicker which adjust both comp and rebound at the same time. with passenger I add about 50% of the extra preload and 3 to 5 clips more damping

i had a secondhand WP Shock with remote on my Storm that i had referbed for £168 by WP. Overall cost was therefore £308 it was so well worth it. Second hand is a good way to go if you are ok to get it checked etc. My mates have either Ohlins and the other a Nitron, both rate them too.

Another vote for Nitron, well built for the price, sprung and set up for your weight, made in the uk and rebuildable too
