Someone on Facebook said how awful 2016 was and hoped 2017 would be better for talent that departs us. I guess that those of a certain age who were influenced, enthralled etc during the 60s/70s are in an age now where our heroes/legends for want of a better term will be departing - I'm not expecting 2017 to be any better and don't think we've reached peak legend departure yet :(

Pogues kicks the ass of any Christmas song

RIP Greg - a legacy has been left

Shows you how much I know...

I looked at the headng RIP Greg Lake, and thought...awww sh1t, has a forum member ridden over to the other side?

And then it said ELP....nope...still none the wiser. Surely Kev meant ELO, and it was a spelling mistake?

So, clicked on the link, and, whilst I have heard of the name Emmerson Lake n' Palmer, I could not even name one song by them, and I don't have a single track in my music collection.

As we all get older, the folk that we grew up listening to (or watching on the big screen) are all starting to knock on as well, and so, I think 2017 will be another year when loads of ''proper stars'' scuttle off the planet - be they music related or film. In fact, I'm surprised just how many ARE still breathing, as some of the folk I admired as a kid growing up must now be well into their 90s.
