Is there any way that the H.I.S.S be removed from a 2005 model without any adverse effects ?

Probably need to swap over to pre HISS storm's loom, black boxes (CDI), ignition etc.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

The ecu will need a code that it gets from the transponder key. Therefore you can take out the HISS section but that would make the ecu useless and unable to turn the bike on. As wicky says pre HISS loom and ecu.
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!
