Tsk silly boy... All Arachnid's have 8 legs thats what makes them fall into the catogory Arachnid.
An arthropod (/ˈɑːrθrəpɒd/, from Greek ἄρθρον arthron, "joint" and πούς pous, "foot") is an invertebrate animal having an exoskeleton (external skeleton), a segmented body, and paired jointed appendages.
Arthropod is the catch all for all creepy crawlies & creepy fliers... But Arachnid is for want of a better words sub speices...
Arthropods have 5 sub devisions
As an example Ants fall in to the same classification as Wasps ... Hymenoptera...but wasps fallinto a sub catagory of Hymenoptera...
Now back to Arachnids...''Greek word ἀράχνη (aráchnē), from the myth of the hubristic human weaver Arachne who was turned into a spider.Spiders are the largest order in the class,
which also includes scorpions, ticks, mites, harvestmen, and solifuges.''
So yes its an Arachnid but which one ?
Confused ? You should try doing the feking exams...

I do like a nice spider!
Owned a few over the years,
Blondi She measured 12" when she stretched out and her abdomen was bigger than a large chicken egg.....she was a grumpy cow!!!
This was the most colourful I owned, colours were amazing after a moult!
Back to the spider in hand...
Araneus diadematus or European garden Spider?.......What will happen to them after 29th March?!!

Yeah I had to google the Latin name - I have enough random shite in my head, I don't need funny words like that too
The abdomen doesn't look very healthy - was it alive for the pic or had you squished it?
I'm done - there's a few I think I've narrowed it down to but they vary by sub species so much that unless they are from the same clutch, they can look miles apart.
