What is a mint VTR1000 worth?

Post by Kodiew »

Hey gang,

I'm new to the chat. I'm a long term owner of a 1988 Honda Hawk GT 650 (Bros). Love that little bike! Unfortunately it was stolen earlier this year... F#*kheads.

Since then I've been keeping my eye out for a VTR1000. I love that it has the same DNA of the little Hawk and I've been enjoying reading the history there.

I've come across one that is low mileage mint condition 2006 model. Mostly stock, but with manual CCTs. Got 8000kms on the clock. Been very well looked after by two owners. He's asking $8000 and I feel like that's up there in price!? I could get a v4 tuono for another 3k! Which I'm also tempted, but I love the Honda v twins. Either way, it's v2 or v4 for me. Love em

Anyway, what do you reckon... What is a mint low mileage VTR worth?

I'm in Australia 🦘

Key question: what it is worth to you

How often are such bikes available in your local market in the same condition/year and similar mileage with Yoshi pipes already fitted?

Rough conversion to UK prices is around £3.9K which seems reasonable for a very low mileage late year model.

I would expect a similar bike in the UK to be around the same price although this is top end market pricing.

Of course I am biased and don't mind paying a little bit extra if my heart is set on a bike that will be with me for a while :D

Good luck

I would agree with that above which I have highlighted in yellow.

If it's a genuine low mileage bike (here in the UK you can check mot test for that online, not sure if it’s possible to do similar in Australia) it will be due to that which demands a higher price. I don’t think the price is far out going by the UK market, you can always make an offer if you would like it a little cheaper.

Genuine low mileage Firestorms are not that easy to find here in the UK now, so it could be the same in Australia.

Good luck in making a decision

Chris.
