Hi all,

just got my bike back on the dyno to check what difference the new Blue Flame cans made, that nothing serious was affected since the change from the Quills.

i had a problem with it running lean on constant throtle, which it still does, but now lower down the rev range., back fires through the carbs and won't pick up again when you wind the throtle open, like turbo lag.

the bike is now again running lean , less HP over-all, but more low down grunt got 180 jets in, don't know what clip position the needles are at.

my question is... before i go back to get the bike set up properly what jet sizes do people find work, the guy i take it to will order in some different sizes before i go back, but what to order as the standard jet kit came with 180 & 190.

i seem to remember threads saying that you used 185 and 180 , 190, but different sizes per cylinder. what have you found that works.

and no one seems to have got the problem i've always had of it running like a bag of spanners at constant throtle around 3k revs. as in 30 , 60, 70 MPH in normal money.

ta for any advice, i know some of you have a race set up which will be different from a road set up where you are not screwing the nuts off the bike all the time, but if i can get a heads up before i go back, he can get a selection of bits to try and get it spot on first time.

Kev

Sounds like you might need to look at your pilot jets and mixture screws etc. Maybe go up one and see what happens.
