Valve Clearances

Ron,

VTR needs them checking at 600 miles then every 16,000 miles after that. If it's used alot do the oil and filter every 8k or if not then every 4k. If there is somebody local who can do it then get them to do it and save half ya dosh because you'll be looking at (a dealer would say between £300 and £500, but step forward the dealer that has only charged £300, thought not) £500 and say I did it for £200 labour plus any shims oil and filter then you saved £250 and if you partXed it they would give you book price and maybe another £100 for a stamped booked. Also get somebody who doesn't mind you watching whilst they do it, then you know your getting a good honest job. Try asking a dealer if you can watch, try ohh sorry did you say something, or *koff mate, or sorry not insured, blah blah. Anyway you can wait another 8k til then.
