I tought I would have a fiddle with the new Storm today.
I set up the clutch, brake and gear levers to suit me.
I set up the suspension to the performance bike settings for starters.
AND THEN
I just could not resist.
I rode my new toy round the block
Bloody aching now

But it put a smile on my face.
I think there might have to be another Renthal conversion round the corner

No I did not, they wanted over £1500 for it.
When I looked at it though the tank was dented from the indicator switch. The bars must have been twisted at least. I know the forks were well bent.
I've got my name on a bar conversion kit. I will sort it out when the guy is back in the UK

mmm ,was your bike a total write off ?if it was ,,,most insurance companys will let you buy it back at 10%of the current market value.i bought mine back last year for £325..had a few problems getting the documents back from dvla but it was well worth it in the end.

A lot of the insurance companies now have deals with salvage yards now. The salvage yard pay up to 60% of the undamaged market value for the bike. Different deals between different companies.
Some pay 60% for all the "big" bikes and get the smaller bikes free.
My bike was a car C write off, and there was no way it was worth me paying out over £1500 to get it back. A new rad is over £350 and both of them were damaged plus forks, engine casings, front plastics, tank, exhaust. This was just the damage i could see.

I waved the wife and kids off to school this morning, the sun was out, and within half an hour so was I.
I did about 35 miles on the new Storm today, a proper ride! Nothing mad, but good fun
The bike rides like new!
The rider still feels a bit second hand
Came home with a big grin on my face.
Think I'll have to sort out a Renthal bar conversion, and the bike was far to quiet, I'll have to get my race cans fitted
