G'day people.

Passed my Cat A DAS last Tuesday and bought a Storm and of course i'm in love with her

Was going to buy a new SV650S from Crescent Suzuki (home of team rizla) but this beauty was winking at me on the internet.

Got it from a dealer in Bournemouth - 4.7K on the clock, immaculate. Registered 'Y' 2001, direct UK spec import by first owner from new.

Loving it, allready put a thousand miles on her (dorset - Devon - Nothants - back home to geordie land)

Q... It's a FY model but can't find any reference to a FY model..??

Q.. Gel seat pad? I want one, my ass was numb coming back from plymouth to Newcastle. I will be doing lots of touring on her, bought a oxford bags etc.

Q.. Service manual? where from?

Q.. Best oil? I topped up with 5/40 fully synth castrol GPS... i think... bottles in the bin.




anyhow, from what I can tell she's standard..... I think.

I'll take some piccies later for your fine eye and you can tell me if it has any goodies on it.


I just can't stop riding her, what a machine. As a new biker I can't compare it to anything, all I know is it is a missile with sleek lines and I wish I had passed my test years ago

Do you mean the owners manual if you do ebay usually have them i have seen many on there as for the oil when my bike goes in for service at a Honda dealer they always put semi synthetic in as told by Honda themselves its supposed tobe better for the engine how true this is i dont know but i always use semi synth now and have done for a few years now

It will bugger your cluch plates up and they will start slipping

Gel seats, cheap on ebay last time i looked, mates got one on his VFR750, very nice, and you kind of sink into it!

Manuals, downloadable everywhere, theres a sticky thread in the workshop section!

hmm, methinks i'll do a full drain and flush and new filter then.

can't do inverness as I have the kiddies for the weekend, been away the last two weekends and have missed em.

plenty of time for meets.

just so we are not getting confused the manual you have tells you the basics and shows you some tables of service intervals the only other manual is a haynes or clymer manual do you mean this?
If you do mean the haynes give me your address and i will send you a manual on cdrom its not a haynes but its very close.

Don't worry about the FY bit all the models are the same through to 2002 you'll only need to know if it's a FY when ordering bits or paint.

ohh.. and congrats on passing your DAS !

I went to my Dads in Blandford for a break, and done my DAS at the army camp with the guy who trains the royal signals display team - really enjoyed it. I watched enviously as the wheelie school displayed there stunts.

Then had to go to Plymouth to see my kid bro pass out of HMS Raleigh - when I passed DAS I couldnt resist buying a bike and doing the various legs of the journey on a bike instead... Wife followed in my pick up.

Yeah - they'll be other meets for sure...
