Time to stop lurking!

I joined a while back, but haven't got round to making a contribution until now. I've had a bog standard Storm for a couple of years, which I used mostly for my daily commute (50 mile round trip) until the demise of Car 2 (rear-ended by a Saab) in November when it became sole means of transport. Love the bike, completely ashamed of its post-winter shabbiness, not too fussed about modifications except to improve the range and I've enjoyed reading about what braver hearts than mine have done to their beloved machines. Cheers!

I have to admit I washed it when I got home today. The final straw was some guy on an exotic Italian something or other pulling up to the same pump at the petrol station. When it's on its own in the car park it's not too bad, but it really did look sorry for itself. Now I can see how much finish has come off the forks . Maybe I shouldn't have bothered?

Welcome Xenophon, the best time to repaint the fork legs is when you renew the front tyre, as the wheel will already be out just remove the calipers (tie up out of the way) and the mudguard then you can get too work

mind you that will only apply if you take the wheel out at home of course
Chris.

Thanks for the advice. The question is - paint them with what? Or has that been answered elsewhere?

I painted mine by hand, others have sprayed theirs, I used Japlac silver paint from Halfords, it all depends how good of a job you want at the end result

I figure if I have spare time, I can either wash my bike or ride my bike.
I'd like to nominate it for dirtiest FireStorm on the planet.
I've done over 80,000kms in the last couple of years & every single one's been a ripper

.
Welcome aboard!
