10 minutes ago we were all sat watching the telle, There was a loud crashing sound, the youngest got to the garage first and shouted " dad your bike has crashed, there is was on its side. Has this happened to anyone before ? no damage thank god. ( I grounded the youngest anyway, just for laughing.)

No but my wife dropped my zxr a few years ago thought she had put the side stand on then it toppled over as i watched its still a sore point

A friend failed his test a couple of months ago when his bike came off the stand as the was talking to the examiner. BUMMER!

(He's passed now though )

My SV will roll off the stand given the slightest downslope, so I'm quite paranoid about how I park it. Lots of advice for modding it on the SV site - why do manufacturers let this stuff through

I am concerned with the storms stand. It really doesn't take much to get it to roll off. If the ground on the stand side is slightly higher (really doesn't need to be much, I've found half an inch or so will do) or there's a slight downhill slope, the bike will come off the stand with the barest movement. (I can push it off the stand with 1 finger)

I have to be really selective about where I park. I was thinking of shortening the stand slightly (very slightly will do, 10 mm maybe)

Has anyone done this already? What did you do? I was thinking of cutting the plate off and sticking a bulb of some sort on (kinda like you see on the legs of metal chairs etc - but obviously a fairly hefty one) so the overall length is shorter and the forward angle is sharper - thus giving more secure balance.

Ideas, thoughts and input welcome...

Never had a problem with mine either. ( Apart from forgetting to knock it up and selecting 1st and stalling !!! )

I'm glad for you there's no damage, but how did you get away with that

Fortunatley the garage has carpet down and the shoe rack broke the fall.
