Hi Guys,
As some of you know im busy sorting the last jobs on my storm- polishing and mending fairing cracks.
Thanks to alan ive manged to weld and fill the cracks completely so its ready for spraying. My dad is a dab hand with an airbrush so i thought i would try and source the paint. The cheapest ive found (stock honda red) is £80 a litre!!!!! I only need about 30ml so this is a little excessive...
I thought for £80 i could proberlly have a spray shop do it as its only a tiny area; so does anybody know any cheapish spray shops in kent or anywhere i can get the paint at a normal price?
Thanks in advance
Toby

Hi Toby
if you want the standard red you could try RS PAINTS in Barnsley Yorkshire i will dig out there number for you they do alot of paint for local bike shops near me including Honda Dealer maybe you can order and they may post out.
How did you get on with the plastic welding?
Did you do as i said?

Hi Toby,
Your local Halfords should be able to supply paint for a red bike (not sure about other colours) as I had some from them a while back for my '99 model, the colour (if yours is the same) is called 'Italian Red' and the code is R157 it cost less than £10 and that was for 100mls.
I think you need a white primer, perhaps someone can confirm that
How lucky you are having an air brush expert in the family
Chris.

thanks guys, ill pop into halfords first to see if they can help as im gagging to get it sorted!
Yeah alan, i did exactly as you said, melted the fairing first with the iron, then used a coathanger as "solder" and put lots of matting style welds all over the back. Now its just as strong as it was in the first place....still hate sanding tho, such a chore!
