Just been whacked by a car!!

Evening all, coming home from work the other night, minding my own business and some car driver decides not to look when coming out from a side junction across 3 lanes of traffic........you guessed it, one very sick looking Firestorm and one very pi**ed off me. He hit my front end bendind one fork tube and snapping the other, demolished all my plastics and lights, snapped my o/s foot pegs and shattered my clutch cover (causing a lovely oil slick across the main road). My high level cans survived with only a few scratches and the frame and wheels look ok though!

I survived with a ripped jacket, torn gloves and a grazed arm so I guess I'm more than lucky. So now waiting for an assessor to come and look at it so I can get paid out, if they pay a decent price and leave me the wreakage I'll repair it, maybe this is the time to stick some 'blade forks in it and while it's in bits at least it'll make changing the cct's easier.

The worst thing is I had only had it 7 weeks and it was bought to replace a cbr6 that was written off in exactly the way!! ( 8 years riding all year round then 2 accidents in 2 months, does that make me the unluckiest or the luckiest rider around?). I just need to get back on a twin asap, the insurance supplied Hornet really isn't the same. At least I'm still here to tell the tale though.

Cheers, Bruce

Bruce! I would say you're bloody unlucky with bikes and you're bloody lucky you are still here.
Glad you're okay mate. We'll have to raise your status on here to our resident insurance claims expert if you keep this up

Lucky not to be hurt, that the best way to look at it.

Maybe look into some advanced riding lessons, if for no toher reason than to help with confidence, not suggesting either accident was your fault.
