F****** Uninsured foreign drivers UPDATE

Post by Fireman on a Storm »

http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB2/viewtopic ... ed+drivers

I had a nice phone call today from the Met Police CJU.
I was informed that the un-insured Swedish woman who killed my Storm and wrecked my shoulder has been sent her summons and court date Th August.
She is facing the charges of Driving with undue care and attention AND Driving with out insurance.

Any guesses what she'll get.

As for me after 5 1/2 months of on going physio I now have an appointment in September to see a shoulder specialist because the are still some problems with my collar bone and shoulder blade that aren't responding to physio

The no insurance will be 6 - 8 points and a fine up to 5 grand. Due care charges carry a 3-9 point scale. As sentences will be mitigated by other charges, they're not cumulative.

My guess would be 8 points, a fine of a few hundred quid.

They can impose a ban if they choose on a no insurance charge and definitely if she hits 12 points.

As always though, the law is a strange beast. Very least she should get is 6 points and a fine, reckon at least £200.

Not a lot I know for a written off bike and a damaged body. Maybe that will have a bearing on her sentencing...

You should have a nice damages claim though for the physio, bike and lost work.

hammer her for compensation for the shoulder, mine gives me hell sleeping on it at night and that was as a result of a motocross accident 10 years ago. look at prospects for the future not just now. you could be limited by movement which may result in problems with future jobs.
