Knockhill

Post by tattie »

Anybody going to Knockhill on Sunday? Just that there are usually about 10,000 + bods there and always a few storms about.
"Soop" I will be milling about the hairpin during the races and meandering round the pits the rest of the time.

Got back on Sunday from a week in North Devon ( tropical )
Travelled on these roads (in the car sadly) pretty good.

A39 Barnstaple - Minehead
A396 Minehead - Tiverton
B3358/ B3233/ B3224
B3227 Umberleigh - Great Torrington, there are 2 dips on this section that damn near make you need to stand up in the car to see over the bonnet, then at the bottom the g force makes everything bottom out

Spotted a blue storm in Barnstaple but other than that. there wasn't much 2 wheeled traffic about.
Mabey it is just a biker thing but you almost expect to meet hoards of bikes on good twisty roads like those.

Cheers

I'll be there :P

Normally on the inside of the first corner for the first s/b race and either the chicane or hairpin for the second. Wandering all over for the rest of the day.

Plannin heading down wi a few mates either the sat afternoon and camping overnight, or just leaving early sun morning and heading back home afterwards.
Never been to Knockhill before. Where do you all recommend heading for, to catch the best action trackside?
Cheers,
Davie

any where around the hairpin is good, you see a reasonable amount of the track there also.

Davie,
I will be heading down on Sunday morning leaving here about 6ish,
stopping off for fuel at Aviemore then to Balinluig for breakfast, better to get there as early as poss 8.00am as it gets a bit hectic.
It looks like it is going to be hot, mid 20ees.
Echt is not going (orange storm) and Kevin is going down in the car.
I thing the hairpin is as good as any, like Kev said. You are looking towards them and wondering how they are going to stop for the corner

Cheers

I've never been there but Knockhill has always been one of my favourite tracks to watch on telly. Is it north of Edinburgh over the Firth of Forth ??

Hi cupa,
I was there wi tattie, and another seven mates including one on a yellow storm and one on a silver one. We arrived bout 9ish and left just before the end of the second race to avoid the chaos! Had a great day but feelin a bit sun burnt today! :(
I spotted some blue, yellow and also a white and red custom painted storm, but no other orange ones.
Cheers,
Davie.
