Big fat steve here, got my first firestorm a few weeks back and can't stop smiling. Have just ordered a 44 tooth rear sprocket to go with the 15 tooth front to save on a bit of front tyre wear.

Well done max, at least we now know it will go, from someone who has done the 15/44 gearing. That must have speeded up the steering by pushing the wheel forward as far as it would go in the swingarm :?:

Just ridden it with the 15 / 44 gearing and i have done an accidental wee.
It accelerates like something mad and sounds like a four stroke motocrosser. Must get me a speedo healer as it tells even bigger fibs now.

That sounds ace, did you get the bigger sprocket to fit with the standard chain :?:

Yes, standard chain works fine and it reduces the wheelbase by about 15mm. It goes straight upto 10,000 revs in 6th which is a genuine 153mph and cruises at a genuine 100mph at a little over 6,000rpm, bloody brilliant.

I reckon that after manual tensioners and a visit to Roger chopping the gearing was the best thing I've done to the bike.

Yep!
It's a definate fit. I use to run a std front with a 44 rear.
Like Max said. It's a bit of a squeeze to get the chain on but once it's on it's fine and the shorter wheel base does make a slight difference (helps with the wheelies too  )
Oh BTW
:D Welcome on Board Beenz :D
