Want to say a BIG THANX to the white transit type van who saved my licence on Friday as I'm nomally one of the first to slag them off. After stoppin for a pie n a pint in Thirsk on the way to Durham I was pressing on at a fair click when I was assaulted by flashin lights and the driver bouncin n wavin in his cab..dropped it down a couple of cogs shut off..You guessed big van two cameras one partrol car and a bike, all the plod stood about chattin..(a bit suss I thought) sure enough another patrol car a mile or two up the road, sneaky T--TS. Perhaps Van Man was a biker ??? Anyway Major Thanks

Perhaps he'd just finished a track day and had got his bike in the back?

Bloody revenue collectors..half the shift manning a speed trap, its probably not even an accident blackspot.. and being a sunday all the plod'll be on overtime..all they seem to do these days is either manning speed traps.or surviellance. on "suspected terrorists". if you report a burglary. youll' be bloody lucky to even see a policeman, in some parts of our septic isle. They may phone you with a crime number for your insurers, but chances are you'll have to go to the knick and get it there,.Pray fervently that you never get your bike stolen, the chances of seeing your pride and joy again must be practically Nil. reminds me of one force telling an owner who knew who had stolen his bike and where it was at that moment..that there were no available officers.and maybe he should try "stealing" it back, himself...
what a bloody country...

I've had some sucess with this one by mentioning when you report the burglery that you think one of the burglars looked like he had a gun
Amazing how many police thay can find within 4 mins when they really try!!

Hmmmmm would you really want Armed plod ANYWHERE near you or your loved ones..!I wouldnt want my Maglight [no street lights on the farm] to be mistaken for an RPG or something

. but i suppose its like shouting FIRE if youre' being raped. more chance of someone taking notice, and the boys in blue turning up sharpish..

I dont hate the plod...on the whole an undervalued underpaid profession.. I wouldnt wanna do it!,, its the way they are used by their respective chief constables and the politicians that gets my goat.."Brunstrom" is a classic example. policing by personal opinion, rather than with the needs of the community in mind.the majority of coppers, are just as pissed off with some of thier mickey mouse duties as we are..and would rather be thief taking ...busting hardcore dealers and crims..kicking the shite out of kiddy fiddlers.
rather than giving tickets to bikers.for dark visors and loud cans etc..
the two coppers that attended my off, were superb...calm and professional, they sure made me glad they turned up as soon as they did..so even though myself and the police have had dealings of a different nature in my dark distant past, and there certainly is no love lost twixt me and the law..I treat them with the respect thier position deserves, and i invariably get repect in return..my rants are aimed at the policies that they enforce, rather than the enforcers of the policies...
